LONA Defense Group exists for one reason: to prepare you, not to scare you. We train real people with practical skills, investigate with integrity, and advocate for survivors. Founded by Misty Moore, a licensed Private Investigator and 20-year law enforcement professional, LONA is built on experience, community, and the belief that preparation is the greatest form of empowerment.
What We Do

Self-Defense Training
Practical, hands-on classes for women, teens, and families. You'll learn situational awareness, prevention strategies, and real defense skills. Taught by a certified instructor who has spent over a decade in law enforcement.
Private Investigation
Missing persons cases, background checks, surveillance, digital investigations, and case support for attorneys and families. Every case is handled with confidentiality, persistence, and respect for those involved.
Survivor
Advocacy
Confidential, compassionate support for survivors of sex trafficking. Our advocacy team includes a survivor and a trained advocate who work together to connect you with resources, navigate systems, and walk beside you through every step.

First Roar Intro Class
Little Lioness - Middle School
Little Lioness is a two-hour self-defense class designed specifically for girls in middle school. In this session, participants will learn practical awareness skills, how to recognize unsafe situations, and real hands-on defense techniques taught in a safe, supportive environment.

Lioness is a two-hour self-defense class built for young women in high school and college. This session goes deeper into real-world awareness, prevention strategies, and hands-on defense skills — the kind that build lasting confidence, not just classroom knowledge.

Our flagship weekly class. Practical defense techniques, situational awareness, and the confidence to trust your instincts. No experience required. Open to women of all ages and fitness levels.

Meet the Founder
With 20 years in law enforcement, experience as a School Resource Officer, and a career as a licensed Private Investigator, Misty has spent her professional life on the front lines of community safety. She started LONA with free self-defense classes at a local gym in Greenfield, Indiana. Today, it's grown into a full-service defense organization offering training, investigation, and survivor advocacy.
